Silverwoods in Thorrington, Colchester is a private development of a new 3 storey, 72 bedroom care
home. DB Construction were contracted to carry out all of the sub-structure & groundwork’s to bring
the development to floor slab level.

Conventional reinforced strip foundations, blockwork, Type 2 fill & over 80 independent soil stacks
& pipe lines were constructed before a reinforced concrete slab was cast covering over 18,000 square ft.

Phase 2 is due to start towards the end of 2008 consisting of external drainage, car parks, access roads,
footpath construction & hard/soft landscaping.
